Status: There Is 1 Pending Issue

BD Internet Security 2009 (5 license)

The last 2 days I can't update.

I have the "Status: There is 1 pending issue" because the update is not performed.

But I did, when I push Update the Total Update bar runs a couple of time and thats it, nothing happened.

When my registration runs out I will not renew, thats for sure.

To many issues that require to much work to fix, every time something happens I need to reinstall this crappy program.

I told about an issue with "nordic" XP installation and the "common files" folder and they wrote that it would be fixed by an update, but that was last year and problem is still there.

So like many others, bye bye BitDefender and I will never reccomend to anyone.

It's easier and faster to clean a pc with virus, malware, spyware with free programs from the net, if something happens.

    "nordic" XP ?!

  • I had a problem with Bitdefender not updating itself. I solved it by clearing all the rules in the Bitdefender firewall. Seems strange that Bitdefender would block it's own update program, but there you go ! Hope this is of some help.

    Hi there,

I believe that in this case the issue is not caused by the Firewall. Here is what you will need to do:

    1. Reboot the PC in Safe Mode.

    2. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Threat Scanner

    3. You will notice several subfolders av32bit_xxxxx where xxxxx is a number. Write down the largest number you see.

    4. Go to Start->Run. Type regedit and hit Enter.

    5. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BitDefender\BitDefender Threat Scanner

    6. You will see EnginesFolder and EnginesFolder2. Doubleclick EnginesFolder and move to the end of the line, change the number at the end with the one you wrote down. Doubleclick on EnginesFolder2 and change it to the one you wrote down minus 1. So, if you wrote down 77, you need to write 76 in EnginesFolder2.

    7. Browse to C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2009\as2core

    8. The procedure is the same, write down the largest number, then modify the 2 keys here

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BitDefender\Bitdefender Antispam

    9. Reboot the PC in Normal Mode.

    10. Verify that BitDefender is working.

This was the complicated procedure. The easy one is to reinstall or repair the product.

    Thanks,

    Florin
