Bitdefender Internet Security 2008

Using Mozilla Thunderbird on a Win 2000 Pro computer. I cannot receive email and have been emailing tech support ( on another computer ) but have not been able to get it going. Thinking maybe someone else has or had the same problem and resolved it. The reason tech support cannot help is because I cannot run the sysdump file to produce the sysdump.tar file. It just produces an error message.
