Bitdefender Blocking Utorrent

Hey, I've just installed BitDefender Antivirus 2009 for my Samsung R700 laptop. Since I did so, I realised that my UTorrent downloads have ceased entirely, although it has not blocked the uploads. I have no idea how to find my way around BitDefender, and was wondering if there is a way (short of simply turning it off while I download) that I can get it to allow me to use UTorrent again? Please, if anyone can help me, could you explain it in plain and simple English? I'm not very good with computers :-P Thanks in advance

Did this issue start happening immediately after installing BitDefender on the computer?
Please tell me what version of Windows are you running and also what other security solution do you have on the system.0
