Bugs In Bd2009

I just recently upgraded to BD 2009, keep in mind that bd2008 worked fine.


I'm having 2 problems:


1. When I click update (either in the taskbar or in the program), nothing happens. The update window show up, but it never checks for any updates and only allows me to click finish or exit.


2. I can't switch to advanced view. When I try, the button I clicked changes to "Switch to Basic View", but the rest of the BD window just freezes. I can switch back to basic view and it will un-freeze.


I'm running windows xp on a brand new dell precision m4300
