"bitdefender Services Are Not Responding"
Good day!
My BitDefender total security 2009 (Windows XP SP2) doesn't works and show the message "Bitdefender services are not responding" (screen shot is in attach).
This came out after Trojan has infected my computer. So i have next questions:
1. How to repair BitDefender? (Reinstall doesn't help). When use QuickScan it finds Trojan in process and files after each system restarts.
2. How it came out that Trojan has infected my computer while BitDefender was working all the time with its firewall. Seems Virus turn my Bittefender off? I suppose Trojan came through my IE 6.0 because i had never download and run any programs from Net after reinstalled my Windows recently.
Please help! I don't want to reinstall Wndows again and I have a lot of important data and thought BitDefender was real protection, but...

Exact same problem. My daughter went to a site and bitdefender reported a trojan and promptly went non-responsive. This is the 5th time since December I'll have to do a full uninstall/reinstall to fix this lousy software. I bought due to the great reputation it seemed to have, should have read these forums first and gotten the true story.

Over the last couple of weeks I've been having the same problem.
Recently when I check my pc I see the "Bitdefender services are not responding" message too.
I don't know how long it's actually been disabled because I'm not always at my pc!
My pc stays on 24/7 and I need virus protection 24-7 - I need internet security...and, at the moment, I don't trust the 2009 version of Bitdefender.
By the looks of things, this has been happening since 2008. See:

This isn't a new think, but I can't find a solution anywhere.
I gave a powerpoint presentation at a local school and received a virus from thier pc. BitDefender detected it and warned me.
I instantly formatted the usb drive and assumed I was protected...but now I'm not so sure.
I've run a deep scan using Bitdefender and it didn't show any viruses. How do I tell if I've got a virus?
Well, I'm not sure what else to write.
Bitdefender 2009 simply isn't protecting some of our pc's, and hasn't been protecting them since 2008. Reinstalling doesn't cure the problem, and there doesn't seem to be a reply from the BitDefender customer services to tell us what the solution to this problem is...or if there is one.
Tonight I'm going to run the latest Microsoft malicious software removal tool and run the free Kaspersky online virus scanner:
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner - this will simply detect any viruses...it won't remove them...but at least I'll know I have one!
If anyone does have a way forward...please let us know.
Thanks and best wishes

Hi everyone
The trojan was found by the Microsoft malicious software removal tool (April) and also by Adaware (I have the Anniversary edition).
I ran Spybot, but that didn't find it.
I used Adaware to delete it.
The trojan was identified as Trojan.Win32.Qhost.tk
I hope it helps.
Best wishes

Hi
run sfc/scannow to see if you have corrupted windows files that caused problems to BD.
run superantispyware with its latest virus signatures.
it should find and clean some virus.
Try to keep Windows Defender on. It is a very good free anti spyware programme, and works with all IS suite out there.
