Multiple Emails Being Sent From Outlook 2007
A client has BitDefender Antivirus 2009 and has a timing out problem when sending emails. While BitDefender scans outgoing emails with large attachements it causes Outlook to timeout and the email becomes stuck in the outbox. Outlook then resends the same email over and over to the same receipient(s). I have changed the server timeout to a longer waiting time.
What I would like to know, is there a way to disable outgoing email scanning, and if so how? This should rectify this known problem.
My client is running Office 2007 on Windows XP including Service Pack 3 with all updates. Not sure of the Service Packs for Office.
Thanks for any help.

Hello dstcs,
As a first troubleshooting step, please try to increase the SMTP server timeout for your account to about 10 minutes and test in order to see if the issue still reproduces like this.
Please let us know what results you have.0 -

I have the same problem. What is doing it, the firewall or scanning the outbound emails?
If I have a Router, do I need the BitDefender firewall enabled?0 -
