Gmail Performance Issue

I understand that the performance impact on Gmail is known and there is a fix in development. Is there an ETA on this? In the meantime, with the Anti-phising toolbar add on disabled, how am I at risk and what can I do to avoid data theft?

Is there an alternative recommended anti-phising tool I can use in the interim while this fix is being developed?

When accessing Gmail please click on the "Old version" option in the upper right hand corner - by setting this option you will be able to have a faster performance when accessing Gmail with the Antiphishing toolbar enabled in IE.
