Why So Many Firewall Pop Ups?

Hi. I just purchased a license for Bitdefender Internet Security 2009. I installed it today. I have it setup with all the default settings.

I'm getting a lot of firewall pop ups. For example, I use Firefox. It seems that every time I open Firefox, I get the same firewall pop up asking me if I want to allow Firefox to connect. If I click on a link on a page, I get another pop up asking me if I want to allow Firefox to connect. Why does Bitdefender's firewall keep asking me the same allow or block question every time I open Firefox? It gets a little annoying having to click on the Allow button constantly.

Other that that problem, I really like Bitdefender.

  • Hi Graystoke,

    1. Firewall - Settings: Set the 'Default Action' to 'Allow Known Programs'.

    2. Firewall - Settings: Click 'Advanced Settings'. Here uncheck 'monitor changes in programs that match firewall rules' and 'strict automatic rules' if you have them enabled.
