Internet Connection Sharing Trouble
Hi!
I'm using Bitdefender Internet Security 2009 trial (just installed it) , and my internet connection sharing stopped working, more interestingly it "sometimes" works, mostly it doesn't. My main pc acts as the router here with BDIS installed, and I have a wireless adhoc home network, working fine up til now, the local network is set to fully trusted in my firewall configuration, also turning firewall off still doesn't allow the internet sharing. The checkbox with "allow internet connection sharing" is also checked.
Would appreciate any kind of help here.

Hello Tavor ,
Please perform the following changes :
1. Open BitDefender, go to the Advanced View button in the upper menu and click on Firewall . Temporarily disable it then look if you have the same issue .
2. If everything is working with this module disabled , enable it , then click on the Network tab from the right. Here , under "Network Configuration" , select your network adapter then pull down the drop-down menu and select "Trusted Local", Stealth to "No" and Generic to "Yes" .
3. In the Zones area please click on the "+" sign and add the IP address of the local device that you are trying to connect to .
4. Test if the issue persist and if it does, go to the Status tab, click on the "Advanced Settings" button and check the option called "Enable Internet Connection Sharing" . Now please uncheck "Block Port scan" as well and click OK.
Tell us what happened so that we can further assist you .

Thanks Alex.
I tried (1) on both computers, but it is still not working.
Just to make the scenario clear.
I have two PCs in my network, both has newly licenced BD Internet Security 2009 installed on them:
1. 198.168.0.1 - Connected directly to the internet, has ICS and file-sharing working on it.
2. 192.168.0.5 - Connected to the internet through 192.168.0.1, ICS is not workling (but I see the remote connection in the Network Connections folder) and file sharing is working.
Also:
* The ICS is working when the product is uninstalled.
* The ICS worked before with Norton Internet Security 2008 (which wal completely removed by uninstalling it + using the removal tool).
I tried also the suggested in (2), and it is still not working (There is no "No" option in "Stealth", so I selected "Off") - still not working.
Then I also tried the suggested in (3). I added 192.168.0.5 to the Zones list in 198.168.0.1, however when I tried to do the opposite in 192.168.0.5 I see no computers that I can select for the adapter - the list is empty.
The state described in (4) was as described all along.
Thanks,

Hello Tavor ,
On your computer with the 192.168.0.5 IP. please try the steps bellow :
1. Go to Start > Run > type: ncpa.cpl [ENTER] > right-click your "Local Area Connection" and choose Properties .
2. Look after "BitDefender Firewall NDIS Filter Driver" , uncheck it then click on Ok .
Test the internet connection sharing and let us know what happened.

Hi Alex,
The weirdest thing happened.
I tried what you suggested on 192.168.0.5 and nothing happened, so I rolled it back to the original settings.
That I tied that on 192.168.0.1 and suddenly I have ICS on all my PCs in my network.
Than, I rolled it back to the original settings and ICS is still working.
I still can't see any device connected to my network adapter under zones in 192.168.0.5.
Now I'm very confused and worried about the inconsistency of the product.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Tavor0
