How can i block yahoo messenger from automatically being added to registry.Bit defender registry control permits the yahoo messenger to add to the registry.
And when i see the rules, i can't change the action(permit/deny).

Hello diwakarasd,
Yahoo Messenger is a legitimate program that has been whitelisted by BitDefender and this is why while installing it you will receive the pop-up about it being automatically added to the registry - this is necessary to complete the install of this software. If you want it to not be able to connect to the Internet you can simply change the rules in the Firewall - Rules tab for yahoo messenger to Deny.
Thanks!0 -

Thanks for reply .But what i exactly want is to block yahoo messenger on editing registry.I do not want to block it through firewall.
Whenever windows start yahoo messenger automatically launches. So to avoid this I have to edit msconfig.exe but again when i use Ymessenger it automatically adds it to the registry.
So is there any way to block YMessenger through BitDefender Registry Control??0 -
Hello diwakarasd,
I don't know what to say about BitDefender automatically allowing YM to add itself to the registry. On my system, with BD TS 2009 fully updated and YM 9.0.0.2136, if I delete the Registry Protection rule for YM, if I try to add YM to startup, BitDefender automatically asks for my permission.
On the other hand, you can just disable YM startup right from YM's settings, like this:
