Hello TimGot,
We will need the following information:
- name of the OS on which you are trying to install BitDefender and its number of bits;
- name of other security solutions installed on the system;
- the complete error message that you receive upon installing BitDefender and when do you receive it ( at the beginning, middle or end of the install).
Thank you!0 -
Hi, Ive been trying to download for ages but the 1620 message as well.
-I use Windows Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 1) 32 bit
-No antivirus software currently installed
-The Message I get is "An error occured installing the package. Windows installer returned '1620'
The setup process could not be completed due to an internal error.
Thanks for your help.0 -
Hello,
Code 1620 on MS Installer means that the package couldn't be opened (in this case, the BitDefender package). This could be cause by either the BitDefender package being corrupt, either MS Installer doesn't have enough access rights over it, either there's a problem with MS Installer itself.
1) Corrupted BitDefender installer package: re-download the installation kit from the website. To prevent corruptions, please don't use any download managers/optimizers. Just go to the BitDefender website, right click on the download link and choose Save as.
2) insufficient access rights: Because you are running Windows Vista, be sure to right click on the BitDefender installation kit and choose Run as Administrator
3) internal MS Installer errors: in this case, you should reinstall MS Installer.
First of all, download the MS Installer Cleanup Utility[/b] and use it to remove any traces of BitDefender (if anything was installed).
Then download Windows Installer 4.5 and install it. Restart your system after every operation.0
