Why Does Bd Delete Files, When Set To Disinfect?

As I can see there's no first and second action to choose when a file is infected anymore. Earlier when I set BD to disinfect on first action and quarantine on second action, BD still deleted the files.

When I now set BD to disinfect it also deletes. Wouldn't it be much wiser to quarantine files automatically when disinfection fails instead of deleting?

    Hello Aarrestad,

Disinfect actually means to disinfect the system, not the file. The real "file" disinfection can only be made for some File Infectors. For the rest malware category, Disinfect means deleting the infected files.

So what you have to do to prevent automatic deletion is to set BitDefender to either Move to quarantine, either to Take no action (or Deny access and continue for Realtime). Both options will guarantee that no files will be deleted, but also prevent known infections from spreading.

On the other hand, since you were so kind and posted a scan log which shows that the detected files are used to crack and/or use software products illegally, then no more support will be offered on this matter.
