Opening Ports

I was trying to use uTorrent but I noticed that there were blocked ports, but I have no idea how to open them. I came across this website that explained how to open ports, but it was refering to using windows firewall. If I'm correct you're not supposed to open 2 firewalls/antivirus at once and I don't want to uninstall bitdefender. Help me!
