Fix This Issue
Hi,
I have BitDefender Internet Security 2009
Today, when I started my laptop
BitDefender has a Fix This Issue
BitDefender states that I have never scanned my computer for malware
I click on the Fix This Issue
But nothing happens?
When I try to do a scan nothing happens
I cannot do anything?
Plus when I go to Advanced Mode
All the tasks have gone
In the Antivirus Section?
What can I do?
Can anyone please help me?
Thank You.

Hello riptorn,
For start, if you have Windows Vista please disable the User Account Control following the steps from the next link . After that, reboot your computer, then save and run the following patch: http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...ystem_32bit.exe . Update BitDefender after that and everything should be ok .
Thank you .0 -

Is there a different patch for 64 bit Windows 7?
Thank you0 -
Hello jharp,
Yes, there is a patch for the 64 bits version . Here is the download link:http://www.bitdefender.com/files/Knowledge...ystem_64bit.exe .
However, if you encountered the issue described above, we recommend you to upgrade for free to BitDefender 2010 following the next steps.

Thanks very much for the quick response. Please pardon my ignorance, but am I correct in understanding that the free version of 2010 is an upgrade on the three year version of 2009 that I bought?
Thanks again for the help.0 -
Hello jharp,
If you have a valid license key for BitDefender 2009 you can use it to register the same version of a 2010 BitDefender product . This action is free of charge and you will only have to uninstall the 2009 version from your system, install the 2010 version of BitDefender, then register it with your 2009 license key . You will have here the complete steps which will help you complete this process.

Thank you very much for the response again. This is the best after-sales support I have ever received for a software product. Very much appreciated!0
