Live Messenger Login Fails

Since upgrading to Bit Defender Internet Security 2010, I cannot logon to Live Messenger after the PC restarts.

If I follow the solution given elsewhere.... restart in Safe Mode, rename imguimsn.dll to imguimsn.d_, I can then logon to Live Messenger when the PC restarts.

However, next time the PC restarts, I have the same problem and have to repeat the Safe Mode rename process all over again.

This is intolerable.

Surely Bit Defender can come up with a permanent fix...if not, I will have to look for a better Internet Security provider.

I am running Bit Defender Internet Security 2010 build 13.0.17.343 under Windows XP Pro.

The imguimsn.dll file is version 13.0.8.117

    I had already tried that.

    I have tried again.

Each time the Support Tool hangs on Step2/3, with the progress bar stopped about 1/3 of the way across.
