What Is Problem With Bitdefender 2008 Scanning

Whenever I manually start a scan, and use the minimize the scanning window, it dissapears completely. but It doesn't even minimize to the system tray. When I went to advanced settings, I could see the status is "Scanning", but there is no way to stop the scan or open the scanning window again, or is there?

Please help my PC is dead slow and I can't stop the scans

- what BitDefender product/version you are using;

- what is your operating system;

- are there any other security solutions on the same PC, besides BitDefender?

- what type of Internet connection are you using ;
