Fojawuka

My laptop was infected yesterday with fojawua.dll and bitdefender 2010 can't delete or quarantine it. It's blocking Internet access. The error message I get on Startup, and then repeatedly, is: "The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS/system32\fojawuka.dll is not a valid Windows image."

    In order to be able to help you please run a Deep System Scan and then provide us the scan log for analysis . Here is what you have to do :


    1. Before running the scan please make sure that you have the latest virus definitions downloaded via the Update module: open BitDefender and click the "Settings" button in the upper right side of the interface; Switch UI to "Novice Mode"; Click "OK"; Choose the "Update Now" task;


    2. After the update process completes successfully you can proceed to running the scan task: select the "Scan Now" task;


    3. When the scan ends, click the "View Log" button at the bottom right of the scan window; A browser window will open displaying the scan report; Save this file on a location of your choice, upload the report on http://www.sendspace.com/ then post here the download link.

  • I can't do that. When the log opens it a new window, bitdefender quickly shuts it down and displays the following message: "iexplorer.exe has been terminated because it was deemed harmful by Active Virus Control" The scan results summary indicated two items failed to be cleaned. "This happened because no cleaning routine was available for this type of threat.

    Please access the next location : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BitDefender\Desktop\Profiles\Logs\deep_scan (if you have Windows XP) or C:\ProgramData\BitDefender\Desktop\Profiles\Logs\deep_scan ( Windows Vista and Windows 7) and there, look after the last reports that was created. In order to do this, right click on an empty space from that page, choose View then select Details. Upload the report on the same website then post here the download link . Also, we would like you to follow the steps described in this BitDefender article and then post here the download links of the BDIS and Gmer reports .


    Note: The location that you need to access is hidden and that is why you may need to follow the steps bellow in order to have access to it:


    Open Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View


    * check "Display contents of system folders"


    * select "Show hidden files and folders"


    Hit Apply and then click OK to exit.

In the meantime, I was able to log on to the infected computer using my son's sign-in and access the scan log long enough to copy it to a thumb drive.
