Windows Vista Thinks Bitdefender Is Turned Off

Running Windows Vista 32bit and Bitdefender Antivirus 2010

When I start the computer, even though Bitdefender appears to be running fine, Windows thinks "Bitdefender is reporting that it is turned off" and displays that warning. EVENTUALLY (after ~6 minutes), the operating system realizes that Bitdefender is turned on.

It is as if it takes around 6 minutes for Bitdefender to "register" with the operating system.

This problem did not occur with Antivirus 2009.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks.
