Can't Install Bitdefender 2010

I reciently purchased a new activation key for antivirus 10 to replace

ver. 8. But apon trying to install (using the admin account) the installer

stops, with the Error: " Installer does not have sufficient privileges to modify the file: C:\Program

Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Threat Scanner\TBD3D.tmp"

I have tried to uninstall using the uninstaller, but I get the same

results. I have tried to change permissions on the folder BitDevender

Threat Scanner", but it will not allow me. Please help me This is

CRITICAL!

I've attached the install log file if anyone knows how to interpret it. Thanks

Hello svoltmer,

In order to solve this issue please follow the steps bellow :

1. Download the BitDefender uninstall tool from the next link:http://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall .

2. Start your computer in Safe Mode and run the uninstall tool :

- restart the computer;

- repeatedly press the "F8" key several times before Microsoft Windows begins

to load (you need to press "F8" until you will be displayed a text menu);

- select "SAFE MODE" in the text menu and press "Enter".

- wait while Windows loads in Safe Mode; this process ends with a confirmation

message; click "Yes" to acknowledge.

3. Reboot your computer normally then check if your operating system is on 32 or 64 bits. In order to find out if you have a 32 bit or 64 bit operating system, please refer to this Microsoft article for more information .

4. Download the BitDefender installation kit from one of the following links :

BitDefender Antivirus 2010 32bit

BitDefender Antivirus 2010 64bit

- copy and paste the link into your browser and press [Enter].

- a new window will appear with two options: [save] and [run] - press [save]

- after saving the file, please run it in order to install it.

5. Register it with your license key .
