Issues With Bitdefender And Tivo
I don't know how well known this is, but there apparently is an issue with Bitdefender interfering when you would like to transfer Tivo Files from your TiVo Box to your PC. I spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting this to no avail and eventually found one post on Tivo's website citing the same problem.
What happens is when I initiate a transfer with TiVo Desktop, the transfer will fail at various places, and the transfer will not complete. Most recently, I have attempted transfers with pytivo and again, the transfers do not complete and fail at various places (that is to say the amount that transfers varies).
In both cases, I tried disabling the firewall and virus protection, and I still got the same issues. However, when I removed BitDefender completely, everything worked perfectly.
I am hoping someone has experienced this and has a solution. I realize this is a long shot, so I figured it was worth a try.
