Blue Screen With Winxp Pro Sp3

I have a VAIO running WinXP Pro SP3, and I have been facing BSoD lately, consistently. even windows is telling me, after rebooting, that my antivirus or firewall product has probably caused this. I formatted and resintalled everything from scratch and the problem persisted. until I had to uninstall BitDefender completely, and now Im running without protection except for the Windows firewall only! however, I had no BSoD since then, which proves the problem actually came from BitDefender. (Both Windows and BD were completely up-to-date when the crashing was happening btw)

all the minidumps can be found on this link:

I so appreciate any help because Im currently without protection and Im not being able to use the software I paid for. Thanks,

naat.

  • Hello naat,

In order to solve this issue we recommend you to upgrade for free to BitDefender 2010 and please let us know if it persists.

Before installing it we recommend you to take the latest updates available for your operating system and also please remove any other security solution present on your computer.

Please make sure that BitDefender does not exist on your PC by running our uninstall tool which can be downloaded from here, first you will need to save it and after this, to run it. When the uninstall process ends please reboot your PC and install BitDefender 2010.

Please use one of the following links in order to install BitDefender Internet Security 2010:

    - 32 bit XP/Vista/Windows 7 compatible version (most commonly used version):

    - 64 bit XP/Vista/Windows 7 compatible version:

The installation guide is available here:

    Looking forward to your response.

  • Dear Mihaela,

Thank you for your help and reply. I followed your instructions accurately and now I have BD 10 installed, and it seems to be working fine, no BSoD so far.

However, since obviously I cant use the current serial number I have for BD09, there is an issue. I purchased BitDefender Internet Security 2009 last year, for 3 pc's and for 3 years. so now if I have to upgrade, I will be losing 2 years of my investment by buying a new key for BD10. what would be the solution in this case?

Thank you a lot for your care,

    naat

Even though I have updated it, it is still persistent. There seems to be and issue with the 2010 regular antivirus program. I am a IT technician. I never see this issues on my Vista Machine what so every, but every time I close it, the blue screen happens. I just get done looking at a page on firefox 3.6.2 and it will blue screen.
