Bitdefender Quarantined. (t.fa.5) Cannot Start Bd
I know there are a lot of posts on this already. I used to love BD but now I'm not so sure. Depends how this situation resolves itself. Here are the issues I'm having working under Windows 7 ...
1. BitDefender is now quarantined (with all of my other system files) and I cannot even start the program to update. I chatted with a support tech online and she said to wait for the update. How can the program update itself if it's not running?
2. Tried the BD manual update (weekly.exe) and I get the message -- "Service 'BitDefender Virus Shield' (VSSERV) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." I'm running the program as administrator so not sure why I get this message.
3. Tried system restore. Like others, restore does not work -- tried using restore points of 3/10 and 3/18.
Questions I have...
1. Will "weekly.exe" fix/re-install BD Total Security 2010 once the update is implemented?
2. If I download/re-install BD TS 2010, will it remove all my quarantined items?
3. Is there a way to restore quarantined items outside of BitDefender?
