Performance Problems

We are evaluating Bit Defender from last 15 days. During our evaluation, we have the following issues:


1. Mails having attachments more than 2 MB will not download - We have Outlook and Thunderbird mail clients both suffering with this problem. If any of us get a mail having attachment more than 2 MB, both Outlook and Thunderbird denies to download that mail and any mails received after that. This is really causing problem for us, as getting mails of 2 MB is usual thing for us. Either we have to login to our web interface, download the attachments and delete the mail or disabling email monitoring.


2. Poor system performance: All our systems are running very slow (configuration given below). Especially, we have a product, which is an ActiveX control that runs in IE. That product usually takes 1-2 seconds to load and login. After installing Bit Defender, it is taking more than 7 seconds to load. Painting of the control is taking around 2 seconds (it usually takes less than a second). Some of the features that use reading from a TCP socket and use file IP now takes minutes together (usually they take few seconds to come-up). This problem can be avoided when we keep the Antivirus setting to Permissive.


System configuration:


hp laptop with 1.2 GHz Dual Core, 2 GB RAM and 160 GB Hard Disks


These are the main issues that are prohibiting us to finalize the product from purchasing. Can you please quickly look into these issues and suggest work-around, so that, we can proceed with purchasing this product and continue using it?
