Firewall Whitelist Seems To Be Bypassed

Is there any relation between “Intrusion Detection” and “Whitelist” in the Firewall Module?

Although some softwares such as JetAudio are added in the Whitelist, but they are still detected as “Possible Malicious” by Bitdefender Behavioral Scanner upon execution and there appear Bitdefender Intrusion Detection Alert Pop-up that “Bitdefender has blocked potentially malicious or infected application” and show an option to allow or block them. Although such softwares are not malicious by their own.

  • Hello ONT,

No, there's no relation between IDS and Firewall Whitelist. The IDS is part of the Behavioral Scanner and works with the same list as AVC does. You can manually configure the IDS and AVC whitelist from Antivirus -> Shield -> Advanced settings.

  • Is there any predefined or pre-reviewwd "Whitelist" for AVC and IDS in your Bitdefender Products just like in the Firewall Module rather than to add manually upon software execution?. Because there are too many applications/softwares conflicting with the Behavioural Scanner
