Hi all: First post to this forum.
I'm having problems connecting/pinging from/to a new computer using Windows 7 Home Premium.
I can't ping into the windows 7 box from my linux laptop nor from the old desktop which uses Windows XP (SP3). Neither the laptop nor the old desktop can see the windows 7 box in any way.. From the Windows 7 box I can get to the internet but not to either of the other computers. I am able to ping the linux box from Windows 7 but not the Windows XP box.
Box 1: Windows 7 Home Premium
Box 2: Windows XP (SP3)
Laptop: Linux openSUSE 11.2/11.3
Router: Linksys WRT54G w/latest firmware from Linksys
The router is configured as a dhcp server for the local connections.
BitDefender Internet Security 2010 ver 13.0.21
I've searched on this forum about this problem but only found information regarding BitDefender 2090 and the suggested setup apparently has a different GUI, at least I couldn't find those items in the 2010 version.
During the install and initial configuration of BD, I had it disable the windows firewall and defender which I later verified.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tom
