Home Network Computers

I was wondering why the limit to number of home network computers was 6 and yet you can buy 10 licences for the product. Is there any way to increase this as we have 7 computers we want to setup this way.

    Indeed the maximum number of computers that can be added through the Home Network is 6. The maximum number of PCs you can register with one license key is 5.


    Considering the fact that you are using 7 computers I would recommend you to take a look at our Business solutions products. You can find more info about each product at: http://www.bitdefender.com/business/


    Have you already purchased a BitDefender product ? If so please tell me where you purchased it from (i.e. a reseller, online shop, our website etc). Please do NOT post any private information on this topic (Order number or license key) , we will request it to your via PM or email if need it.

    We have 10 licenses of Bitdefender 2010 AntiVirus purchased through your website. Nowhere was there mention of a 5 PC limit per license key, and nothing was mentioned when installing 7 copies onto the PCs.


    The price difference between the Home & Home office is quite substantial, we got 3 years for half the price that 1 year with the business AV version would cost.

    Hi Rspierenburg,


    First and foremost I would like to apologize for misleading you in regards of the maximum number of PCs that you can register with a single license key. Indeed the maximum numbers of PCs that you can register is 10.


    Furthermore regarding the HomeNetwork module please keep in mind that its main purpose is to allow you to update / scan / tune-up up to 5 PCs that are not connected to the Internet.


    Having more than 6 PCs in the same network is not possible, however you can always create 2 Home Networks. In each Home Network one of the PCs will be set as Update Server and it's mandatory to have one set on each network to be able to perform the above mentioned actions.
