Does BitDefender Internet Security 2009 include any protection for rootkits?
Indeed BitDefender does cover protection against multiple types of rootkits automatically or at demand (custom virus scanning level). To set your BitDefender to scan for possible threats including rootkits you need to open the Security Center, go to Antivirus tab then on Virus Scan and double click on the type of scan you with to perform (Deep, Full, Quick etc). In the new window click on the 'Custom' button and check to see if the option to check for rootkits is selected.
