"this Pc Has Never Been Scanned For Viruses"

I have had BD Anti Virus since 2008 registering it as required and just did a renewal with new key for the 2010 version. Whenever I log in to BD it states " this PC has never been scanned for viruses".

I have it set for auto scan daily. If I manually scan, the warning stops but I have to scan everytime I log on to stop this warning.

Help.

    Hi nsbirdie,

I do not know Windows Seven, however there are similarities with XP too, I hope I could help.

I noticed you could not renew your subscription. Does it work now?

    1) Check a few things:

Only one antimalware on a system (one and only one firewall, one and only one antivirus, one antispyware... well, I have two, but it is debatable)

    2) You say you just did a renewal with new key...

We have to deinstall the former BD software when we install the new one. Usually it is automatic when we launch the bd 2010 install. However it is not complete. With my XP system machinesI found files and dll from 2008 and I had to suppress them manually.

You could use Ccleaner to check if the former software was totally suppressed (with caution of course, it is risky to fumble in the registry mode).

When we install the software the first time, we will have the message (this PC has not been scanned) until we did a full scan. Let the machine do it.

However if you did it, I don't guess why it comes again. maybe a bug.

    Three solutions:

    1) You launch a repair/remove operation (through start program bd repair/remove)

    2) If it does not work, you download your BD version, you deinstall completely the soft, install the soft which was downloaded and check the update and the scan.

    3) if nothing works, well... let a message in this thread and ask for BD help desk to investigate.

    Regards

    :)

  • I have the same problem, although I have a brand new computer and the tech guys installed the bitdefender internet security 2010 for me. Every time I restart, it says a scan has never been performed, even though I just did one on the last session. If I had read about all these problems with bitdefender before, i would have saved my money and bought good old Norton!
