Internet Disconnectivity
I've been using bitdefender for a while now since I've bought the Total security package 2010. Recently I updated to windows 7 and had to reinstall bit blocker. Everything was fine until I finished installing it. Then I experienced very frequent internet disconnection. I am on a laptop and laptop mode is turned on. Thank you for reading and I hope someone can help me out. If it's not bitdefender's fault, I'm sorry to intrude however this is really annoying.

Hi Lightz,
I do not have W7 64 bit, only XP. However the issue is maybe the same, so let's try something.
Check the windows firewall. It should be deactivated (while Bitdefender is the only one to be activated)
I guess you do not have another antimalware on your machine (FW, AV...)?
(I just ask... )
(I ask because you have a laptop (laptops have been stuffed with lots of "free" soft)
We should have only one firewall, only one antivirus, one antispyware.
Maybe you should fully deinstall the BD soft that could not be installed and was running on... XP? Vista? before your upgrade and fully reinstall it.
You could deinstall with the Start Program Repair/remove and finish the work (off internet) with Ccleaner (with caution however) or wait for Bitdefender to send you a patch.
FYI
Regards

I've had a clean installation of windows 7 so I don't have anything but bitdefender. windows defender/firewall are all turned off of course. I'm still having issues.

Hello Lightz,
What exactly do you mean by "had to reinstall bit locker"?
Also, please be more specific about how exactly do the Internet disconnections appear (what type of connection you use, when/how it disconnects, when/how it reconnects).
Laptop mode has nothing to do with the described problem. It's only a module that detects when your system is running on batteries, and it disables/postpones scan and/or backup tasks (depending on your options).
