Bitdefender Not Allowing Ftp Connection

Can someone assist with how to set Bitdefender to allow ftp access? I am trying to help someone remotely but I don't run bitdefender. I generally help this client with website issues, including coffeecup but I don't know much abuot bitdefender specifically.

Is there a setting that needs to be changed to allow ftp access? Can someone please provide step instructions as how to do this?

thanks

  • Hi,

    How are you trying to access a FTP server ? You can add an exception for the port 21 TCP within BitDefender Firewall module. Please provide me with more details as follows:

    - what OS are you using on the computer having BitDefender ?

    - what BitDefender product are you using ?

    - how are you trying to connect to the FTP server ? application, browser

    - any error message displayed ?

    And may you explain how to do this?

    @selfhc

    I had the exact same problem and I solved it by

    - opening bitdefender's main window

    - click on options (top right)

    - turn on expert view

    - go to the firewall tab

    - click on the devices tab

    - click "add" and type the domain name which you want to connect (e.g ftp.example.com)
