Same Problem With Vsserv.exe
I am having the same problem with vsserv.exe that everyone else here is having. It sounds like Bit Defender has known about this problem for over a year and has done nothing about it.
Is the 2011 version out yet and if so, is the problem still there?
My license is up for renewal in less than a month and I have started researching other programs. If there is no indication that this problem has been fixed, I will dump Bit Defender and find another product.

I just installed 2011 and same as 2010 this is eating up my hardrive and CPU. Somebody please help. I like so many others have heard how great this software is. But if your bandwith goes to nothing, and your internet does not want to start at times, and it sounds like your computer is a helicopter and is going to take off flying through the air. It is very upsetting. Bitdefender you need to help us before we start a facebook page that explains all the problems we are having and our views on your software.
Very disappointed.

I have been having the same issues until recently. I'm not a PC whizz by any means, but I think there is conflict between vsserv.exe and wuauclt.exe.
I have disabled windows automatic update and for me the problem appears to have gone away. I find it easier to visit the windows update site and let it do a search and give me the option of what I want to download as opposed to being dictated to by microsoft what gets downloaded on to my PC. For instance, my PC is 4 years old ... what is the point, now, of windows update downloading an application to my PC that gives me the option of what browser I want to use? It takes up resources that are in my opinion unnecessary.
It might just be worthwhile seeing what happens if you disable automatic windows update.0 -
