Help, Adware.vdm, And Notebook Running Very Slow.

Hey, guys Im new to the Forum so I would like to thank all of you in advance for helping me with my problems. I know I will get good help because Forums are the best place where the best people hang out.

Anyway. I will tell you about my Current set-up First I guess. Im not to sure if you guys prefer seeing what kind of notebook and setup I have, but I know that I do.

Current Set-up.

Dell Inspiron 9300

Geforce go 6800

100GB 7200Rpm HD

2 GB ram.

Windows Vista Home Prem. 32-bit

Wireless Router.

Persona 5mb High speed internet.

I just recently put Bitdefender on my notebook because I have heard nothing but good things about it. All the reviews say it is number 1. Before I hade avg free which obviosly did not help because I think that is when I got the virus, or whatever it is that my computer has. So I downloaded Bit defender hoping it would find this virus since avg did not. And during normal scan it found generic.peed.eml.(these last numbers would always change. So I come to the forum for help on that and I found that this problem is in the inbox maybe. (Im not to sure though because defender does not tell me of the locatin. so I deleted most files not all and now defender no longer finds the virus or whatever it is.

but now I did a deep scan and found adware.VDM. and bit defender can not delete it or move it or nothing. Is this the virus that is causing all my problems? I should also mention that I have my wireless router set-up with an encrypted pass and all that good stuff, but my internet company called my and said I downloaded 25 GB in one day. How is this possible. I wast even home. So obviously someone is hacked in my system right? In the defender program the traffic is always going like mad like 110 90 80 140 what does this mean? Does this mean that these are computers using my connection?

I am getting really frustrated though because now it is costing me lots of money just to use the net. because I am always over my limit in the first day of the month. I hope this makes sence to someone and they are able to help me.

Where was adware.VDM found? Open BitDefender press on history,double click on the latest entry where scan finished is written. And please post the location.

I also suggest that you download this program. Install it,run the program you will see an icon which looks like a bug rightclick on it press on check for updates and download the updates. Reboot your pc and press several times on the F8 button before the windows loading screen choose safe mode press enter. Log in with your account. Start the program by doing the same but choose scan for ... , scan your pc, select perform complete scan and press next.

Sorry it took so long I formatted my comp and everything was well when all of a sudden here it was this adware.VDM the location is C:system volume information_restore (then a bunch of numbers)

You could got rid of these infections by just disable system restore. A complete format is a little bit too drastic.
