Remove Upgrade Notice On Startup

After I login to Windows, I receive the following message:

BitDefender 2009

Choose permanent protection. It's stronger. Upgrade now.

Of course I do not want to upgrade. I choose cancel every time, yet it reappears at next login. How do I make this message go away permanently?

  • Steve - I have BDAV 2009 installed on my old laptop (because it doesn't meet the minimum system requirements for the current 2011 version) and I do not get the message you are reporting. Specifically, which BD 2009 product do you have installed?

    Here are my specifics:

BitDefender Antivirus 2009 - Build 12.0.12 (from the 'About' window)

Registered to xxxxxxx@domain.net (the email address I registered BD with)

    Expires in 362 days

    License key: 3Bxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(the above from the 'Registration' tab)

    Thanks,

  • I have no About menu to access.

I downloaded it only a few days ago; I think it was from here. This page says the version is 12.0.12.0.

    Thanks,

  • Sorry, that is the "price you pay" when using the "free" version. I suspected you may be using the free version, which is why I asked the question.

I have the "paid" version which is why I don't get the message.
