Automatically Deleting Viuses

I had a file that wasn't a virus but was deleted by bd, isn't there some settings you can change to where it asks you what you want to do with the file it finds instead of automatically deleting or quarantine? I have the option "alert me before taking action" but it didn't when it assumed an app I made portable was a virus and deleted the file and now i can't get it back. This is all I could find in the preferences that seems like would ask first before doing anything with any suspected files like the older bitdefender used to do. I assumed the option I have it set to would be what I needed so that the files wouldn't be deleted.


I have bitdefender total security 2011

    You can go to Antivirus-->Shield tab and click on the Custom Level button. There, you can change the 1st & 2nd actions to take for infected files and suspect files.
