Bdagent.exe Hogging Cpu... Any Help?

Hello everyone,

I've been a solid Bitdefender user for almost 3 years now and I love every "bit" of it (pardon the pun). My only problem is, when I start my laptop up, bdagent.exe will run normally and take up no more than 1-3% of cpu at any given moment. Most of the times it stays at 0% even when I'm web browsing or typing or rendering.

Now, the trouble comes when I try to play a multiplayer game... after I play the game and exit out to the desktop, bdagent will suddenly start to take up around 45-50% of cpu CONSTANTLY even with all other tasks and programs turned off. I don't know how to make it stop hogging my cpu because I have dual core Turion x2 2.4ghz cpu and I need every hertz of it for my applications.

Any help? Or rather, any way I can clarify my situation?

My specs are the following:

Windows 7 Premium x64

AMD Turion Ultra x2 Dual Core processors @ 2.4ghz per processors

6 GB DDR2 800mhz RAM

500 GB HDD 5400 RPM

ATI Radeon Mobility 4650 HD Graphics Card

Thank you! <img class=" />

  • Hello,

    First of all, I would need the following info from you for a better understanding of the issue you encounter, as follows:

    - the game name and the executable files used to start it;

    - have you used a previous version before installing BitDefender 2011;

    - if you used one, reproduce the steps you took to upgrade to 2011;

    - do you enable Game Mode before starting the game;

    - an autorun log as explained below;

    - Support Tool log as explained below;

    - if you have AVC / IDS enabled under Antivirus -> Advanced Settings;

    [how to generate autorun logs]

    a) Please go to this page

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx

    and download the autoruns file.

    B) Extract the contents of the downloaded file and run the 'autoruns.exe' file;

    c) Wait for the list to be filled with all the processes and then make sure that you have the Everything tab selected in the upper part;

    d) Click on the Disk icon right under File and chose any location folder on your computer;

    e) Save the file with a specific name (your name, computer name, a random name, which one you want) and then upload the log file HERE

    [how to create SupportTool log file]

    Follow the steps explained in THIS article then send me a PM with the generated log file along with a detailed description of the issue you encounter and the link to this topic.

    Looking forward to your answer!

    Kind regards,
