Scan Activity Bar

The other day my Scan Activity Bar for the Net Zone has big red X on it.

I looked in all the settings (I think I noticed this before when I was disabling the firewall), but now everything is enabled and all looks good.

Any ideas about what's happening?

I have BD IS 2008 on Vista Ultimate.

Thank you.

  • Hello TheAlien,

Sometimes, when BD updates itself, it has to temporarily stop the services and then restarts them. When this happens, it might be possible that you'll see the red icons in the FW/AV zones.

You have nothing to worry about at long as they remain disabled a few seconds. If they remain disabled for a longer time (and cannot even be enabled from BD Security Center), then you have a problem and you need to report it.

The red icon is there for the last couple of days. I did reboot and is still there. This is happening ONLY for the Net Zone. The file zone is fine.

Go to start, run, type devmgmt.msc press enter. Go to display/view,click on show/display hidden devices, now expand non plug and play compatible drivers. Double click on the bdftdif entry. It should be enabled and there shouldn't be any errors reported now click on the driver tab the status should be started (running) , startup type should be set on system if not change it and press on ok.

    Best regards

    Hi Niels,

That's exactly how things are. No errors reported, it is started and it is set to system.

Still Net Zone has the big red X.

  • Hello TheAlien

Try to stop it an restart it afterwards. When you are in BitDefen Security Center press on settings check and uncheck scan activity bar.

What is the status of the firewall when you open BitDefender?

    Best regards
