Ie7

Now I am convinced of issues with IE7.

Initially, I had lots of probs getting BD to run on my system - having moved from Kaspersky which I believe is a nicer prog.

Eventually - we're talking here many hours (after all forum tips exercised) I did clean XP install followed first by BD. OK. Installed various progs: Office '07 etc. No probs. Then installed the Oct'06 release of IE7 and BD failed to respond. (I think BD was working in the background, but interface would not open, nor update applet.)

Removed IE7 - things seemed fine except for update issue which I haven't resolved.

Then, foolishly, did MS update which included (I assume the latest) IE7. Afterwards, BD failed to respond. Removed IE7. BD okay- though still have update issue and can't get stealth mode working.

It is quite apparent that trying to run IE7 on my machine [intel p4 3Gb with standard parts] kills BD.

As IE is the most used browser I figured that BD would be compatible with the current version. WRONG! (I mean - a clean install?)

I also notice an issue with Acrobat Pro 8.1 - but happily that goes away with removing IE7.

I'd like to hear some response from BD support staff - but they have been deathly quiet for 4 days.

I'd also like to see a patch released which might fix the compatability issue.

Beyond this I'd actually like a refund on my purchase so that I can use the money towards updating my previous subscription to KIS

Thanks for your time

  • I'm only a noob myself, but I might have a good idea for you...

Have you tried uninstalling BD, then installing IE7 and updating it, restart the computer then reinstall BD..

I imagine it has something to do with IE7's built-in phishing filter, and BD's phishing filter. (the BD installation would include some deactivation of the IE7 phishing filter) Also spam related filters, and email scanning, for the same reason..

    Hope that helps.
