Pc Sooo Slow It's At Standstill

I installed BD for the first time a while back and immediately experienced problems accessing the internet and a general slowing down of my laptop.

I contacte BD's live on-line help assistant and they helped me to uncheck some boxes in various parts of BD and told me this would help to speed up my laptop.

It didn't work.

I contacted BD again and they talked me through how to generate a report, so that they could help me, but one of the reports they asked for I was unable to email back to them and despite asking for help with this, none was forthcoming. My husband, who uses the laptop for business purposes, became increasingly frustrated an in the end we decided to uninstall BD and install alernative security software.

Since doing this, yesterday, our laptop has been back to normal, working fast and we are able to access the internet quickly an easily, as we could before we installed BD.

We had read a lot of reviews about BD before purchasing, which said it was good and helped to speed up pc's, we experienced quite the opposite.

We have since read some reviews, where users have had the same problems as us.

It's a shame, but we did try to get the problems resolved and had to give up for the sake of our sanity in the end

  • Hello and welcome on our Forums!

I have read the ticket you had open with one of my colleagues (ID: 201107011004498). After checking the autoruns logs you provided, I found traces of a previous Symantec Norton software installed on your PC, along with the Windows Defender loaded and running at PC startup. This can be the cause of the issues you encounter with BitDefender.

It is a known fact that using multiple security solutions installed on the same PC may affect its performance and you will not be able to use the PC at its max potential.

Considering the above I see two ways we can resolve this: either we troubleshoot and install BitDefender correctly after all the traces are remove and see if the issue still occurs or not. And, as a second choice, you can ask for a refund. One of my colleagues from Sales will assist you, at my request, with more information on the refund process and explain to you if you are eligible or not for it.

If you wish to continue troubleshooting, and to speed-up things, please send me your decision via PM (private message) and you'll have my answer in the shortest time possible.

    Kind regards,
