Protection For Web Browsers

I have turned off fraud and phishing protection and i have set auto pilot to off.

The annoying bar on the top of the page has disappeared but still, BD writes a lof of css code to page's source.

Is there any way to stop doing that? I need to be able to see the html source exactly as I wrote it !!!!

A simple way is to rename the executable file used for the web browser.

    For example:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

    renamed to:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\flirefox.exe

This will work for any web browser where the executable file is as follows:

    • avant.exe
    • avant.exe
    • chrome.exe
    • firefox.exe
    • flock.exe
    • iexplore.exe
    • maxthon.exe
    • opera.exe
    • rockmelt.exe
    • safari.exe
    • seamonkey.exe
    • ybrowser.exe
    • dragon.exe
    • webkit2webprocess.exe

These are defined in the following file:

    C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender 2012\settings\core.http.xml

You won't be able to easily modify that file due to it being owned by SYSTEM.

    Hope that helps.

@dimbouk - No need to follow steps mentioned by AJUK .

There have been some modifications and once you choose not to show the toolbar in the browser all those line of code will not be injected.

It will be released in an update.

  • Boot your PC from linux if you can and edit that file from linux.

Always when it is needed to edit some files that are protected by system I just use ubuntu because linux doesn't respect same rules than windows <img class=" />

BTW. Live CD protection could be great new feature to BD2013. Now hackers can just boot the computer from linux cd and delete all BitDefender files from disk and dump the admin account and its password from you-know-where-(aka-SAM). Then they just enter the admin password and do what ever they want. Currently only way to prevent that is to encrypt hold hard drive but that eats performance a lot so many users don't do that.

Why should a hacker be given physical access to your system and access your cd drive?
