Could Not Create The Java Virtual Machine

Ever since getting bit defender 2 months ago I have been getting the error message "Could not create Java virtual machine" with some of the programs on my computer (Minecraft and Maple 12). The minecraft problem started happening the day that I got bitdefender, the Maple 12 one I only noticed recently (I haven't had to use it in a while). I have updated to the most recent version of Java and that doesn't help. I'm running on Windows 7 64 bit. Maple 12 is my main concern, I need to use that program. Any Ideas?

That solved the minecraft error. I still get the exact same message whe trying to run Maple 12 though.

Nikki I can't thank you enough. I tried google/youtube/creator's websites for both programs and it appears as though I just wasn't searching deep enough. Maple 12 is an essential program for my schooling and I can use it once again. Thankyou!
