I'm running BitDefender Total Security 2009 and the virus scanner no longer runs. When I start a manual scan I get the error message: "Error intitializing threat scanner. Please contact BitDefender support". (yes, initializing is misspelled in the official error message.). When the scheduled virus can automatically runs, I get the error message "The scanning process was not started in the required time interval." At this point, it appears my bit defender virus protection isn't doing anything. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
