Bitdefender Causing My Connection To Be Blocked

I am currently using BitDefender Internet Security 2012 and I have had absolutely no issues with my home connection. I recently moved into my dorm at UCSD and their internet is provided by ResNet. WiFi works well, but the connection is only 8mb/s, while the wired connection is 100mb/s. Whenever I try using a wired connection I get blocked after about 10 minutes of use. My roommate does as well (our room has two ports) and he is also running BitDefender. I checked my services and startup programs, but the only thing that eliminated the problem is completely removing BitDefender. Three technicians have already come by to check the port and perform further tests and they have also re-enabled my port at least seven times. I have tried tweaking settings like disabling port scans, turning stealth mode on, off, or remote, and turning generic off or on, but no matter what combination I choose, I get blocked within 15 minutes of use. The only rule they have is that you cannot connect more than 5 devices (with 5 unique MAC addresses) on a single port within 24 hours, or the port will be blocked. I am wondering why BitDefender would be causing this error, and if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
