Installation Of Weekly.exe Update Reset Bd Configuration
We are running BitDefender 2009 on our Kiosk like system. We do not want any pop-ups or user interraction of any kind. We configured BitDefender to turn off all notifications and displays. We've disabled the BitDfender auto-update process for two reasons:
1. Customers where our kiosk systems are installed block the access via their firewalls.
2. We want to test each update internally before deploying to our kiosks.
We have implemented our own Microsoft Update Server Service and want to use it to deploy the BitDefender "weekly.msi" file (after in-house testing).
We successfully deployed the BitDefender "weekly.msi" file to a test machine but found that all the previous BitDefender settings had been returned to the original installation defaults.
How can we prevent this from happening"? Or, can we create a ****** to set all the BitDefender configuration values to the way we need? A ****** would be preferable.
Thanks!

Hi Steve and welcome to our forums.
Please tell me, do you have Total Security or Internet Security installed there?
Also please tell the build that you are using on those systems(right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and select About).
Later edit: do you have the system requirements to run Bitdefender 2012?

Thank you.
We do not have Total Security or Internet Security installed.
Product Information
BitDefender Antivirus 2009
Version: 12.0.12.1
Yes, we do have the requirements to run BitDefender 2012, however it would be a lot of effort to replace BitDefender on all our deployed systems. We purchased 50 BitDefender Antivirus 2009 licenses. What would be the advantage of switching to 2012? Would our current BD 2009 licenses be valid? We have 317 days remaining on our current licenses.0 -

But you didn't answer my original question: can we prevent weekly.msi updates from changing the settings? OR
Is there a way to create a ****** to put the setting back the way we need them?
Why should we upgrade to 2012? Please elaborate. It is a very large amount of work for us to upgrade if it doesn't solve our problem!0
