Bd2012 System Tray Icon Disappears

BD2012 installed on two home computers, Sony using Vista, HP using XP. BD seems to be working on each but the security icons that are supposed to be in the system tray disappear, or sometimes it is there but without the little "autopilot" symbol. When I bring up the homepage, everything seems to be working. Without the icon, and the autopilot symbol, I'm always worried that BD may not be running and I'm unprotected. Anything that can be done to get those little guys to be consistently there?
