Mac Os Reporting Site Incorrectly As Phishing

Hi

The site www.filemakerhacks.com is being incorrectly reported as a phishing site.

I do not see anywhere in the BitDefender app (Mac OS Lion) where I am able to set up an exception - can you please tell me where I can do this, or what to do?

Thanks

Taximan

    Hi taximan,

I am using the full PC version, and I don't know if this applies as far as an B.D. mac app. If not, someone else here can correctly guide you. :)

I too did get the warning (maybe the word hack in the website was a trigger?). I was able to gain access on my PC by launching the B.D. Console then/Settings/Privacy Control/Whitelist and create an exclusion. Even in just clearing out my Firefox History, did not resolve the problem, until I ran CCleaner which probably did a better job of cleaning all files/temp files/cookies etc. in which case I was then able to get to the web site without it being blocked by B.D. http://www.piriform.com/mac/ccleaner

    Hope this helps :)

    Hi Columbo

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I only have BD for the Mac, so I don't get the console you are looking at. In the app on the Mac, Settings does not have a Privacy Control tab, so I'm stymied.

    :((

  • Thanks for letting me know, as I wasn't sure as far as for Mac and what you'd have on your end, thus my disclaimer ;)

You may not get a resolution tonight, and will have better chance tomorrow. Thanks for you kindness towards my attempt. :)
