Installation of BDIS 2012 in one computer (Vista Home Premium with all updates automatically) didn't go well, while another installation in another computer with the same OS was good. I am currently writing this with the "good computer" because the "bad computer" is too slow to use it for any purposes. I have used computer for more than 20 years, and BDIS 2012 is the first program that failed installation, and I find this extremely frustrating. I have spent a lot of time, but it seems to be getting worse. Please help.
The problem started while restarting computer during installation BDIS 2012: the screen for restarting froze for a long time (like an hour) forcing me to turn off the computer with the switch. After this a lot of things happened: overall computer ran much slower; it starts slow, sometimes stuck at the orange screen after login forcing me to switch off; Windows updates failed; MS Word 2010 failed to save, and so on.
I had to restore to the point before BDIS installation, and this brought another set of problems and more serious ones later. First the previous IS software (Trend Micro) reappeared in Control Panel and could not be uninstalled by Control Panel or BDIS installation. TMIS had to be reinstalled and uninstalled. BDIS was reinstalled, and computer was running slow but still usable.
Now last night there was another Windows update, and the restart got stuck again. Computer is now running at extremely low speed and practically unusable. Even the Safe Mode runs slow, and I managed to restore to the point before the last Windows update, but it didn't seem to help.
