Update Error 1008

I have been using bitdefender Total Security 2009 for years, without any problem. After my system crash, when I re-installed my OS (Windows Vista x32 sp1) I decided to upgrade to Bitdefender Total Security 2011. But after my installation, I can not update my Bitdefender. It throws an error: An error occurred during the update (-1008).

I have tried manually updating (using the weekly download available on BD website)

The same problem happened when I installed Bitdefender Total Secuirty 2012 (evaluation).

I have been really agitated about this problem.
