Deleting Shortcut From Desktop

Hi

I have an old shortcut from an already uninstalled program on my desktop. I'm now having problems deleting the shortcut, as everytime I try to delete it, an error message saying "The action can't be completed because the file is open in BitDefender Virus Shield".

Can you please help me to rectify this problem as I have tried numerous times and I failed every single time.

I have the same problem and there has been no previous versions installed. Please tell me how I can release the file locked by Bitdefender and delete it?

Solved: Did a reboot and was able to delete the file
