Windows Vista - Registry Monitor
Hi I am using BitDefender Internet Security 2008 and it appears that it is getting a bit more stable, however there is function that still needs to be tweaked.
I would like to be able to disable the registry monitor / enforcer since I have been experiencing too many installations problems. This functionality can be added as a temporary, like the "game mode" switch or a permanent setting. Some of the installation, like HP multifunction devices, are in fact a very long string of scripts and executables and in this case would requite attention on when the accept a registry modification.
Also this feature does not comply with unattended / push installs.
I would like to request a change in the definition "game mode" maybe it can be renamed "permisive mode" or something more corporate, not a lot of gamming in my offices.
Thank you for your support!

Hello Gabriel,
You can disable the Registry Monitor.
Security Center -> Settings -> Privacy Control -> Custom level -> Registry Control
Disable that checkbox, and you won't get anymore alerts.
This feature wasn't meant to be compatible with unattended installs. It was meant to alert you in case some unknown malware (which is not detected by the AV module) tries to register itself as a Startup application.
So, my advice: disable the Registry module, install whatever software you use, then re-enable the registry module.
Also, the Registry Control has an option to remember your answers, so it won't ask again about the same application. When the pop-up appears to ask you about an application, that pop-up contains a checkbox called Remember my answer. Check it and next time that certain application requests access to the registry, it will be automatically allowed/blocked (depending on your previous answer).
