Same here. Not that I ever used the bottom two that are missing, but maybe others had?

Columbo,
I'm glad you posted this. I could not remember what was there before or what is missing now. Like you said, I have never used the last two anyway.
I would like to see seperate processing rules for program updates instead of having daily updates and program updates under the same rule.0 -
Same here aswell they disappeared and i always distribute Bitdefender files and use p2p update system since i have a T1 connection line at home i usually try to cut some slack off bitdefender servers.

@ Charyb
lol, neither could I friend, so I did an uninstall/install to the previous build version,...I have such a short memory " />0 -
hello,
since build 16.18.0.1406 peer-to-peer options that you all mention have been removed.
have a nice day.0 -
Since yesterday I've lost not just the options you mentioned but the following modules in both settings and events:
ID theft Protection
File Encryption
Safego
Safebox
Update
I can't access them at all, they don't even show up in the interface!!!
The funny thing is this is just on the Administrators account; the one other account (Guest) has BD operating normally with all modules present in both setup and events.0 -
You mean like this. When I uninstalled the new build (after it had updated from the previous build) and I re-installed to the previous build to post the image #2 and it updated itself, lost all modules and panels. I uninstalled using the uninstall tool, downloaded the newest build from the direct download full install link, and everything is back to normal.
Firecapt, you may need to do that?0 -
I did try to delete the above image from Photobucket, but since it wasn't a direct link is still posted. My thoughts are this, I don't want it to be a visual reference image of an update glitch from a company who is trying to concept and develop the best security on the market. Apologies to all, and to Bitdefender, as I could have just acknowledged the issue in text.
Christian, you can delete it, as those who it may have helped, have seen it.
Again, apologies,
Scott0 -
Since the change in settings, and my lack of memory, I'm going to use the snipping tool to save an image of each setting in the GUI. This way I will be able to compare old and new without reinstalling.

columbo,
Tried your solution (uninstall w/uninstall tool) and reinstall but the result is the same. I didn't lose all the modules, just the ones listed in my previous post0 -
Firecapt,
Try signing into MyBitdefender. It seems like most of the modules missing are from remote content. I don't know if signing in will trigger anything or not. Big guess here.
Another idea would be to run ccleaner to clear out temporary files/folders and to see if there are any registry errors regarding BD.0 -
Charyb,
Tried that but still no go. Also completely shut down the computer after the reinstall and rebooted.....no change!0 -
I wonder when they took out the 2 update options, if it messed something else up, or if their heading for more of a cloud user controls, and thus also the glitches?

Firecapt,
Which uninstall utility did you use? Was it the uninstaller specifically built for 2013?0 -

Good idea I used to do stuff like that, but have gotten lazy. You're very good about maintenance, observations and diligence, as is your routine here: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=1518550 -
Charyb,
Yep used the newest version just for 2013. Ran the BD uninstall first, then (after reboot) used the 2013 uninstall tool; then reboot, then reinstall.0 -
It sounds like all the right steps and processes we know how to do. It may be in Bitdefender's/Christian's court now? as it does seem to be an issue, I don't know if my help in this post will cure it either: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=36493

The only other thing I can think of that I've seen Christian mention, is to right click the full version download .exe file, run as admin., and don't let it update during install (I think that's what is says) and install, then let it update.

Columbo,
Did the "run as admin." but didn't uncheck the box for update. Maybe I'll try that next. Thanks for the idea.0 -
You're welcome, don't know it it will help, but I like your willingness to try spirit

Oh, by the way, again, it may not help, but even in using the uninstall tool there are a couple of (used to be in previous builds) registry keys that CCleaner finds, that I delete, and in the past have been able to install with no problems. Yet with this build, it could be a deeper type issue?

Hello
As my colleague mentioned on this post http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...st&p=151862, the P2P options from the Update module were removed with the last update. We have implemented a different update system with the latest build and those options are no longer necessary.
Thank you in advance for understanding.
As for the issue with the missing elements from the main interface, the discussion will continue over here:
